Sardinia/Corsica

Sept 2020
Two islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea, for many sailors the dream area with turquoise bathing bays, magnificent old towns, breathtaking cliffs and quiet anchorages.
This was last year's description of our upcoming cruise. What can I say, expectations were more than met.
Starting with the Costa Smeralda via the La Maddalena Archipelago, Buddeli and then via Lavezzi to Corsica with our first stop in the beautiful Bonifacio on Corsica. Continue, after thorough weather research, counter-clockwise along the east coast towards the north. This is very attractive with its miles of sandy beaches and beautiful bays such as Rondinara, Santa Giulia, Palombaggia and finally the beautiful old town port of Bastia. Continue around the Cup Corse to the west coast via Nonza, Saint-Florent, and Calvi. All very impressive, BUT what is offered from Calvi on the west coast is outstanding. A play of colors of vegetation, rocks and crystal clear water in different shades of blue. (was very pleasing, hardly any plastic waste in the water and on the beaches).
When you then lie in the beautiful bay of Girolata, you think, what else is to come, that's so dreamlike. With a heavy heart, you continue south and explore breathtaking bays such as Cala di Conca, Cala Longa and one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica, Roccapina. At the end of the trip we all agreed that there was no favorite beach, they all have something unique. Then we went back via Bonifacio, Lavezzi, Cala Gavetta and Porto Rotondo to our Marina Cala dei Sardi near Portisco. For us, so far, the most beautiful area in the Mediterranean, breathtaking.
